Volunteer search-and-rescue team covers large area in Georgian Bay region

Hug-a-Tree
The RCMP Hug-a-Tree and Survive is an Adventure Smart Search and Rescue program aimed at children aged five to twelve.
It teaches basic survival skills that one day could save a child’s life by helping the child survive the elements and minimize the risk of defeating a search team’s rescue efforts.
It has as its purpose the goal of teaching them:
- How not to become lost in the woods
- What to do if they do become lost
- How not to come to harm
- How they can help searchers find them
